Top achievers in the 2018 National Senior Certificate exams were honoured at the annual matric awards celebration earlier this month.

The following learners were also acknowledged at the Department of Basic Education’s ceremony: 

Top candidate in the Country - Justine Crook Mansour of Rustenburg Girls High

Top candidate in Quintile 2 - Kamva Goso of Intsebenziswano High

2nd in Mathematics - Timothy Schlesinger of Rondebosch Boys High

3rd in Mathematics - Liam Edward Gurney of Westerford High

2nd in Physical Sciences - Kamva Goso of Intsebenziswano High

3rd in Physical Sciences - Jean Durand of Paul Roos Gymnasium

3rd in Sign Language Home Language - Ancilla Julius of Dominican School for the Deaf

3rd in Special Needs Education - Lisa Marie Van Wyk - Pionier School for the Blind
