WCED receives fourth clean audit

The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) received its fourth consecutive Clean Audit Award.

Head of Education in the province, Brian Schreuder, said what made this feat more remarkable was that the WCED was the only provincial Education Department to have achieved a clean audit since 1994.

Auditor-General of South Africa, Kimi Makwetu, and Premier Helen Zille handed over the award to the WCED’s Chief Financial Officer, Leon Ely, earlier this month.

Schreuder thanked the WCED managers and committed officials from all ranks who contributed towards the department’s success.

Well done to all the officials, both in Head Office and the Districts, as well as our schools for making this possible. This is certainly a team effort!
