Sunningdale PS opens new Grade R Centre

Wednesday, 15 September 2021 was a very proud day for Sunningdale Primary.
The Blouberg school hosted the official opening of their stunning new Grade R block.
Principal Estelle de Wit said it was a time to celebrate, give thanks and acknowledge everyone who played a role in this project. She said the biggest role players in the success of this venture were the parents. De Wit thanked them for supporting all the school fundraisers and for buying into the governing body and management team’s vision.
The block consists of two Grade R classrooms that can accommodate 30 learners each, bathrooms and a storeroom for each classroom downstairs. Three smaller classrooms upstairs will be used for Occupational Therapy and Music. This may later be changed to a full remedial block / section.
It was paid for by the parent community.
The Metro North Education District described the Grade R Centre as an excellent collaboration between the school, the governing body and the community.
