Stellenberg High School Netball team international champions

Stellenberg High School’s under 15 netball team achieved a resounding victory at the International Youth Netball Challenge in Singapore.
The team was unbeaten in the tournament and each player won a gold medal, as well as bragging rights as international champions. Team captain Megan Jones was named the “Best Centre Court Player” of the prestigious tournament.
The annual competition was organised by the Singapore Sports School Netball Academy and teams from Australia, South Africa, Hong Kong and Malaysia participated.
Stellenberg High School and Boitumelo High School from Tembisa qualified to take part and represent South Africa after winning the Kay Motsepe Netball Championship earlier this year.
Motsepe Foundation Deputy Chairperson, Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe, said playing at an international level helps young girls grow in the sport and in life.
The school thanked the Kay Motsepe Foundation for the opportunity and for investing in woman sport and our future netball stars. “What a great privilege and honour it is to go overseas and represent your school and country. Some can only dream of opportunities like this.”
