Garden’s Commercial HS launches “The Task Force”
19 March 2021
The Task Force, established in 2021, has been created to effectively carry out tasks and solve problems which the school and school community face. The Task Force works under the guidance of a sense of caring, one of the core values at Gardens Commercial High School.
The committee is made up of three educators at the school and they are supported by a team of learner agents.
“The School Management Team member responsible for mentoring novice educators at our school, challenged us to do something more than just teaching. A few of us were part of this challenge and we then decided that we wanted to change lives by giving and serving and decided to form a task force to do just that. The Task Force was formed by Raeesa Hamid, Jay-Dee Van Harte and I,” shared Geraldene Fortuin.
As we are heading towards colder days, the Task Force has taken it upon themselves to run a blanket drive. Parents, learners, teachers and the community are encouraged to donate blankets which will be handed over to the homeless in the City Bowl. Donations can be dropped off at the school daily between 12h00 – 15h00.
