Durbanville HS learners crowned national netball champions

Durbanville High School’s netball team did the Western Cape proud by emerging as the national champions of the Mini Netball World Cup.
The tournament was initiated by South African Schools Netball (SASN) in the run-up to the Netball World Cup which will be hosted on African soil for the first time since its inception.
SASN chose the under 15 age group to compete in the tournament and Cape Town High Schools Netball launched their campaign in November 2022. A total of schools entered.
Cape Town High Schools held their competition on the 11 March 2023. The eight qualifying schools, DF Malan, Durbanville, Fish Hoek, Fairdale, Manzomtombo, Nomzamo, Stellenberg and Soneike High Schools, competed in the provincial leg of the competition. This was hosted by Overberg in the town of Hawston on 25 March 2023. Durbanville emerged victorious at the provincial competition.
They represented the province at the national tournament held at Florida High School in Gauteng where they claimed the gold medals.
