Augsburg Agriculture School named best Youth Show School

Augsburg Landbougimnasium in Clanwilliam received an award as the best Youth Show school in the Western Cape.
The award was presented to the school’s principal, Cobus van Coller, at the Western Province (WP) Youth Show Awards Ceremony at Elsenburg.
The school received the award based on the learners’ participation and achievements at regional youth shows and the WP Championships.
Four learners received awards for achieving 100% at shows in Heidelberg, Riversdal and Swellendam. The learners:
Leana van den Berg (Hoërskool Charlie Hofmeyr,)
Benjamin Turner (Augsburg Landbougimnasium)
Henre Swanepoel (Laerskool Volschenk)
Jaco van Deventer, Hoër Landbouskool Oakdale, Riversdal, Eden)
An award for the best new entry went to two learners at Hoër Landbouskool Boland in Paarl, Ruan Immerman and Luan Skog.
The top achievers in the general knowledge test at the WP Championships were Anré de Klerk, a learner at Augsburg Landbougimnasium, and Ansu de Buisson of Hoërskool Langenhoven.
The award for the best showmanship at the WP Championships went to Katrien van Wyk of Laerskool Bertie Barnard. She achieved full marks.
Bianca Viljoen of Augsburg Landbougimnasium received the award in the wash and preparation category. She achieved 29 out of 30.
