The teachers appreciated the acknowledgement and affirmation. There was also an acknowledgement of teachers that had passed away because of COVID-19.

Ismail Teladia, Senior Curriculum Planner for Life Orientation GET, welcomed attendees. PnP donated gift vouchers and snacks to each teacher. Damelin donated a few tablets which were handed out as prizes to the teachers.

Teladia said this appreciation function was undoubtedly an important annual event for all Life Orientation teachers to the extent that teachers go out of their way to attend. Teachers travelled from across the province to be at the function.

There was also a celebration of Subject Advisers and SCPs who celebrated their 60th birthdays. This included Tabisher, Suanne Rampou (SCP for Natural Science), Johrita Hanekom (Subject Adviser (SA): Metro North Education District (MNED) and Fairoez Cassiem (SA: MSED).
