2021 Story Stars winner is announced!

Xia du Toit of Mikro Primary School is the 2021 Story Stars winner!
Xia follows in the footsteps of Keschrie Booysen from Philadelphia Primary School who won the essay competition in 2020.
Xia impressed the judges with her use of the correct punctuation, spelling and vocabulary, and by being extremely creative in her story, bringing in past events and creating new imaginative characters which made the animators very excited to animate it!
Minister Schafer visited the school to present the updated Story Stars animated video, starring Xia and her story.
Xia’s story, Afrika-kinders (Children of Africa) was shared with the school’s current Grade 4 learners to encourage them to enter.
Congratulations to her teacher, Ms Thealize Blake, for inspiring her class to participate and producing such good creative writing skills, and her principal, Mr Louis Mouton.
Kungawo Ntoyanto from Blossom Street Primary received the 2nd prize in the 2021 Story Stars Essay Competition. According to Principal Daniels the learners were inspired by Mrs Liddle, one of the Grade 4 teachers, to enter the competition. She was the driving force behind all the entries we received. Kungawo wrote a beautiful story about falling asleep in the Mathematics class and all the shenanigans that ensues with Felix and Felicity.
Thank you, Ms Liddle, for your dedication and drive for the project, we hope you inspire another Grade 4 class to enter this year.
The 3rd prize winner, Aslynn Jansen from Monte Vista Primary, wrote all about Felix and Felicity's adventures under the see and how Ashtastic saved the day. Aslynn's achievement is especially heroic as she has struggled with her sight because of a medical condition. Despite her challenges, Ashlynn is dedicated and motivated to perform at her best. She perseveres and excels. We can all learn from Ashlynn.

Grade 4 learners are encouraged to continue the adventures of Felix and Felicity this year and stand the chance to star in their own animated story.
The closing date for this is 15 April. We hope to receive a lot of great stories again this year.
