Registration Opens for The Creative Arts Conference 2022

22 August 2022

Rustenburg Girls’ Junior School, in partnership with Schoolscape and the Western Cape Education Department, will be presenting a Creative Arts Conference in September.

The Creative Arts Conference 2022 is a two-day virtual conference on 9 and 10 September 2022.

Building on the success of last year’s conference, this event will provide space for teachers to reflect, restore, recharge, and create how they teach music, art, design, dance and drama to make the arts come alive for all children in schools.
The two days include keynote speakers, workshops, masterclasses, exhibitions and so much more to invigorate creative arts teaching.  #CAC22 will bring a fresh perspective of why arts education must be vital as part of every child’s holistic development.

The driving force behind this conference and change is Hendrik Marais, head of creative arts at Rustenburg. He shares, “Too often arts education is marginalised in schools. An education without the arts is inadequate, given the dramatic ways it changes students’ lives academically and personally. It is key to preparing them for success in a complex 21st-century world.”

This event is specifically for Foundation Phase, primary and high school teachers; students studying to enter the teaching profession; school principals and management teams.

All attendees will earn 20 Continuing Professional Teacher Development CPTD points.
