Gene Louw Primary ’s 2022 Spelling Bee
8 April 2022
On Wednesday, 16 March, Gene Louw Primary had their second annual Spelling Bee Competition for the Grade 7 learners. The participants were very well prepared for the competition and many of them stayed in the competition for the first five rounds. There were seven contestants left out of 21 when they entered the unseen words round. After a nail-biting round of interesting unseen words, Laila Garcia (first) Wikus Visser (second) and Emily Grové (third) emerged as the winners.
On Thursday, 17 March, it was the Grade 6’s turn. There were only three contestants left out of 21 when they entered the unseen words round. It was a tough battle until the end, but they managed to secure a winner for 2022. Caileigh Thomas finished in first place, Liam Van Vuuren ended in second place and Tyler Morilly took third place.
These six winners are through to their interschools Spelling Bee that will take place in the second term. Congratulations!
