GRADE R REGISTRATION: DISTRIBUTION OF POSTERS


1. The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) is committed to ensuring that all children entering Grade R are registered timeously to commence with Grade R at the beginning of the new school year in 2008.
2. A poster has been developed to create awareness of the importance of early registration at WCED registered sites.
3. The posters will be distributed to all primary schools and community sites registered with the WCED, as well as to provincial libraries and Department of Health facilities in the province from 1 October 2007.
4. It is requested that the posters be displayed where all parents and caregivers will be able to view them, preferably in the foyer.
5. Principals are requested to bring the contents of this minute to the attention of the Grade R and Foundation Phase teachers.
