The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) realises the importance of providing its employees with the necessary guidance and support for living a healthy lifestyle. To this end the WCED has introduced the Employee Health and Wellness Programme (EHWP) to provide employees with assistance when they have to deal with life's challenges and crises. The programme emphasises the need to be proactive in order to maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

The WCED has arranged a Health and Wellness Day in the Metropole South district to take place from 12:00 to 16:00 on 23 August 2007. The Health and Wellness Day will take place at the Ottery Youth & Teacher Training Centre, EMDC Hall, Plantation Road, Ottery. The Ottery Youth & Teacher Training Centre can be contacted on 021 703 3198 for directions.

- Hypertension check
