| ADVANCED CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION (CONSUMER STUDIES) |

The course for the Advanced Certificate in Education (ACE) in Consumer Studies is aimed at improving teachers' qualifications for the teaching of Consumer Studies, formerly covered by Home Economics and Needlework & Clothing.

The course is designed for teachers who have taught Home Economics and Needlework & Clothing without qualifications in those subjects, or teachers who have a three-year course in Needlework & Clothing only.

The Western Cape Education Department is offering bursaries to 50 teachers to obtain the ACE (Consumer Studies).
|
4. |
This ACE course will be offered part-time at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) over a period of two years, commencing in August 2007. Accommodation will be provided for teachers from rural areas.

Teachers who wish to apply for a bursary must complete the attached Annexures A and B and submit them, via their school principals, by Tuesday, 31 July 2007 to
