The Cape Teaching Institute (CTI) will be offering courses, as shown in Annexures A, B, C and D, for educators and school managers during school term in 2008.
2. |
Educators interested in attending these courses are advised to register via District officials, as indicated in Annexure E.
3. |
One course is repeated a number of times to enable different cohorts of educators to attend.
4. |
Only fifty-six educators can be registered per course. These educators will be drawn from all eight districts of the province. This means that only a limited number of educators can attend a course at a given time.
5. |
Courses of a four-week duration have been split into two blocks to allow the educators to go back to school and implement the training.
5.1 |
A four-week course has two blocks (Block 1 and Block 2) of two weeks duration per block.
6. |
An educator must attend both block one and two of the same course in order to complete the full course: e.g. Should an educator select to attend course 3, of a Foundation Phase Numeracy course, the educator will attend block one of this course from 5 May to 16 May 2008 and return to finish the course by attending block two from 21 July to 1 August 2008.
7. |
Swapping between the blocks of different courses will not be allowed.
8. |
Educators must therefore select courses that will take place during times when they will be available to attend a full course.
9. |
Nominations from District officials for courses running during the first term in 2008 are to reach the CTI before 20 November 2007 to facilitate a smooth registration process in term 1 of 2008.
