| COPIES OF HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY FOR THE WESTERN CAPE: A FOCUS ON YOUTH |

At the end of 2006, all schools in the Western Cape received brochures outlining the key objectives of the Human Capital Development Strategy (HCDS) for distribution to educator and non-educator staff.

The HCDS is the lead strategy for the WCED and is the blueprint for ensuring access and quality education for all in the Western Cape.

It is thus incumbent that all WCED staff are familiar with its content so that its key priority of changing the landscape of teaching and learning in the Western Cape, synonymous with the concept iKapa Elihlumayo 'to grow and share the Cape' is realised.

Principals are therefore urged to ensure that all educators, non-teaching staff, parents, learners and community organisations working with the school are familiar with the contents of the HCDS.
