| DESPATCHING OF POST FROM HEAD OFFICE |

As you may be aware, circulars and minutes are sent out in e-mail format, but schools without e-mail facilities are provided with hard copies. Should circulars and minutes have attachments that cannot be sent via e-mail, hard copies will be made available.

In response to the escalating cost of dispatching an increasing volume of paper- based post from Head Office, this directorate issued, to all chief directors and directors on 17 November 1998, a notice on the following cost-saving measures, which are still applicable.

| 2.1 |
Ordinary mail will be dispatched by Registry only on Thursdays.

| 2.2 |
Hard-copy circulars and minutes will be dispatched to schools every third Thursday, unless it is certified at director level that the circular or minute contains a due date and has to be posted as soon as possible. Should a circular or minute have to be dispatched before the usual post date, the directorate concerned will be responsible for paying the postage. |

The dates on which hard copies of circulars and minutes will be dispatched during 2008 are as follows:
