WCED celebrates female leadership
22 August 2019
The Female Principals Conference on 17 August 2019 at Old Mutual in Pinelands was a festive event to honour women in leadership positions at education institutions in the province.
The event was attended by about 200 principals, deputy principals and heads of departments.
Brian Schreuder, Head of Education, described the attendees as an inspiring display of women’s strength and leadership.
He reminded the audience of their impact on the future leadership of the organisation. “Like the women of 1956, you are being watched by thousands of other women.”
Speakers included Wendy Horn, Protea Heights Academy Principal, who encouraged women to celebrate each other’s successes, Asanda Suale Ngoasheng, who talked about resilience and restoration through education, and parenting expert, Nikki Bush, who gave us hope and inspiration amongst some tears!
It was an inspiring and motivational day for all those that attended, including the men! A big thanks to William Jantjies and his team for a wonderful conference.
