Tembaletu school wins recycling competition

15 August 2019

Tembaletu recently took part in the Blue Ribbon competition, which involved the collection of Blue Ribbon plastic bread bags for recycling. The competition ran from March up until the end of May 2019.

Tembaletu formed part of a cluster of 22 schools who were competing against each other.

Principal of Tembaletu LSEN school, Mr Ayanda Mtshazo was extremely proud when one of their learners, 12 year old Cinga Beja in the practical 1 class, was announced as the competition’s top collector. Cinga collected a whopping 2 200 bread bags!

For these amazing efforts, Cinga was awarded a new bike from Blue Ribbon.
“Hard work definitely does pay off and we are very proud of this young man!! He made our school very proud,” said Mr Mtshazo.

The school, however, was in for another surprise when it was announced that the school also won 1st place out of the 22 schools participating and a R5000 cash prize!!

Congratulations to Cinga and Tembaletu School!
