Partnership between Paarl schools pays off

29 August 2019

A partnership between Ihlumelo Secondary School in Mbekweni and Paarl Girls High School is in its fourth year and still going strong.

In 2015, Ihlumelo reached out to the girls’ school for help after a disappointing performance in Accounting at the end of the previous year.

The schools started with workshops where the learners of Paarl GHS, with the support of the Accounting teachers, worked through exam papers with the learners of Ihlumelo.

At the end of that year the pass rate of the Ihlumelo Accounting learners rocketed to 92%.

The corporate sector of Paarl also became involved. Mpact provides all the necessary printing paper and files for the learners, which enables Paarl Girls’ High to provide Ihlumelo with the necessary resources for their students to be well-prepared for the exams.

This is a wonderful example of sharing best practice and collaboration.

All the best to the Grade 12s of both schools for the upcoming exams!
