HOD brings the message of “Leapfrogging inequality” across to all education districts.
22 May 2019
WCED HOD Brian Schreuder has recently been visiting education districts to communicate the Vision of the WCED for Quality Education.
While the Western Cape have made significant improvements in education since 1994, an inequality gap still exists.
The SG is therefore travelling the Province to explain to every principal the WCED strategy behind reducing the inequality gap. While we will continue with various successful initiatives, such as teacher training, the language and mathematics strategy and more, we must also initiate and promote e-learning in our schools as well as the strategies and pillars of Transform to Perform.
It is only then that we will break the glass ceiling that we seem to have hit – and ultimately reduce inequality.
In the visits, Mr Schreuder appeals to principals to show true leadership and management in their schools in order to advance our vision and to develop learner’s prepared to meet 21st century demands and challenges.
In addition he outlines why the strategy is seeing improved behavior in schools and contributing towards improved learner achievement. The HOD will next visit West Coast District and then Metro North to engage with their principals.
