Capetonians come
out in support for
Holy Cross RC PS
On Thursday, 7 February 2019, many of us watched in shock and sadness as a fire ravaged 3 classrooms, a library, computer laboratory and feeding kitchen at Holy Cross PS.
Thankfully no one was injured, however, many of the learners and educators lost personal belongings. LIbrary books, teaching equipment, educational toys, computer equipment and feeding scheme supplies, amongst others, were also destroyed.
Immediately calls were made out to the general public for assistance in replacing these items. The response has been overwhelming.
Individuals, small business and corporates such as Shoprite heeded to the calls for assistance and donated items such as backpacks, stationery and food items.
We thank everyone for the support they have provided.
The school has indicated that no more stationery and backpacks are required, however, additional donations of library books and educational toys would still be welcomed.
