Call for nominations for coaching excellence
1 August 2019
This Province has thousands of teachers, coaches and practitioners who work passionately and tirelessly with learners from no- and low-fee schools to ensure an extended sporting education.
It is important that their work is celebrated and acknowledged.
These programmes add to the educational environment by providing a secure, active and nurturing place, after school hours, enabling learners to explore and pursue their interests and find their niches of success outside of the classroom. In so doing, After School Programmes build the confidence and resilience of learners, magnifying their potential future opportunities.
With that said, the After School Office in the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport have recently called for nominations for the third annual After School Sport Coaching Excellence Award, a category in the Provincial Sport Awards.
So our appeal is to please nominate someone who you think is making a positive change in our learners lives through sport.
to download the application form or to find out more about the nomination process.
Coaches need to be nominated by their host school/centre/ organisation
The After School Programme Office is available to assist with the application process. Zahrah Majal is available to assist coaches to fill in the form and collect their evidence. You can contact her on 021 483 987066.
Successful nominees from each district will be invited to the Provincial Sport Awards Ceremony later this year, with the provincial winner announced on the night.
Applications close Friday, 2nd August 2019.
