New Head of the Western Cape Education Department appointed.

Statement by Minister Debbie Schäfer, Minister of Education

I am pleased to announce that Mr Brian Schreuder has been appointed as the new Head of the Western Cape Education Department for the period 1 December 2016 to 31 March 2019.

Mr Schreuder has performed admirably as acting HOD since September 2016 and has proven his commitment to the Education Department and the learners of the Western Cape.

Mr Schreuder brings with him a wealth of experience after serving the Department for 42 years.

I look forward to working with him in improving education outcomes and providing the best possible education to the learners of our province.

My heartiest congratulations to Mr Schreuder on his appointment.
