Minister Grant to kick off the Kellogg's Health of the Nation 50-Hour Sports Challenge

This afternoon, Western Cape Education Minister Donald Grant will be officially kicking off the Kellogg's Health of the Nation 50-Hour Sports Challenge. More than 3000 children from communities throughout the Western Capes will be participating in the event where they will partake in 15 different indoor and outdoor sporting activities.

Their challenge - to keep a ball in motion for an uninterrupted 50 hours to highlight the importance of physical activity in children's lives.

"Research has shown that healthy, physically active children learn more effectively and achieve more academically," says Donald Grant.

"Therefore, I full-heartedly support the Health of the Nation initiative that encourages children to be physically active and educates them about being healthy through a balanced diet and exercise."

WHERE: The Western Province Cricket Club Sports Centre, Ave de Mist, Rondebosch.
