MEC Dugmore welcomes West Coast gesture WESTERN CAPE MEC FOR EDUCATION Cameron Dugmore has welcomed the gesture of the Saldanha Bay Municipality, who will be donating R20,000.00 today towards stationery for learners from the Joe Slovo informal settlement in Langa, whose homes were gutted by fires last week. The money will be donated today (Tuesday 18 January) during a small ceremony at the Isilimela High School in Langa, Washington Road, 16h00, and will be attended by MEC's Dugmore, Marius Fransman (Local Government and Housing) and Koleka Mqulwana (Social Services and Poverty Alleviation). In a press statement today by the Mayor Johanna Stoffels, she said the donation is a part of the money the municipality won in the Vuna Awards last year. "We make this donation of behalf of the community of Saldanha Bay and trust that this small gesture will help the community of Joe Slovo get back on its feet again," said Mayor Stoffels.
