| RELEASE OF THE 2017 WCED SYSTEMIC TEST RESULTS FOR GRADES 3, 6 AND 9 |

In October 2017, the Western Cape Education Department conducted the Grades 3, 6 and 9 Mathematics and Language Systemic Tests. |

The results will be available on CEMIS from 26 January 2018. Schools are encouraged to access their results as soon as possible so as to incorporate them into their School Improvement Plans. |

The reports to schools provide the pass rates and average scores for each school, as well as performance in particular areas of language and mathematics. |

Mathematics and Language Diagnostic Reports will be provided from this year. These reports will provide insight into learner performance according to the prescribed assessment standards. |

The School Reports and the Diagnostic Reports are available on CEMIS and can be accessed as follows:
- Select the menu item "Assessment and Exams" and then "Systemic Test Results 2017". On the drop-down menu, select one of the following:
- For Grade 3, select "Grade 3 Results 2017". On the drop-down menu select one of the following: School Report, Mathematics Diagnostic Report or Language Diagnostic Report.
- For Grade 6, select "Grade 6 Results 2017". On the drop-down menu select one of the following: School Report, Mathematics Diagnostic Report or Language Diagnostic Report.
- For Grade 9, select "Grade 9 Results 2017". On the drop-down menu select one of the following: School Report, Mathematics Diagnostic Report or Language Diagnostic Report.
The downloaded information should appear on the screen.
- Should the information not appear, go to the menu bar at the top and select "Tools". Then select "Pop-up Blocker", select "Turn-off Pop-up Blocker" and click.
- Once this has been completed, select one of the grades to view the results.
