The Department of Basic Education (DBE) identified Economic Management Sciences (EMS) as one of the priority subjects for 2018. The aim is to lay a solid foundation for all commerce subjects in the Further Education and Training (FET) Band. |

The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) found that the teaching of EMS is not consistent in all schools within the province. For this reason, it was decided to compile a series of Tips for EMS teachers and upload it on a regular basis on our ePortal. |

Tips for EMS teachers is a resource to support EMS teachers on what to teach (content), as well as the methodology of teaching (pedagogy). |

The purpose of this resource is to strengthen the quality of teaching and learning, to cover subject ideas, concepts and relationships, to understand the topics and to refer to world relations pertaining to the subject. |

The resource will be uploaded every two to three weeks on the ePortal at the following web address: http://wcedeportal.co.za. Filter the subject and the grade. |
