In 2013, the Department of Basic Education (DBE) developed the South African National Curriculum Framework (NCF) for Children from Birth to Four. This national curriculum is aimed at improving the quality of basic education by laying a solid foundation in the very early years. It provides guidance for developing learning programmes and working with infants and young children from birth to age four. It is applicable to a variety of settings, purposes and a range of stakeholders. The NCF can be accessed via the DBE’s website: https://tinyurl.com/m99omqf |
