1. Permission has been granted for schools to take their learners to attend theatre performances of prescribed literature at the Artscape during school hours. Attendance at such a production will be regarded as an educational excursion.

6. Educational benefits
6.1 Attending a theatre production of a prescribed work is regarded as an extension of classroom teaching.
6.2 Learners will gain deeper insight into the prescribed work, which, in turn, will improve their examination performance.
6.3 Learners will be exposed to a world other than their local school and community environment.
6.4 It will contribute to the learner’s quality of life and skills development.
6.5 Learners will be exposed to the arts and theatre as a possible career choice.

7. Language teachers are encouraged to plan additional pre-, during- and post-production activities for the learners to enhance the learning experience.

8. Language teachers are encouraged to make every effort to take their learners to attend these live performances.

9. Schools will receive further communication directly from the Artscape.
