The Department of Basic Education (DBE) issued Circular E34 of 2018 (attached as Annexure A), pertaining to the prescribed literature texts for study for all official languages at Home, First and Second Additional levels for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations to be written in November 2019 and June 2020. |

The Grade 12 literature question papers for all official languages for the November 2019 and June 2020 NSC examinations will be based only on the literature that was prescribed for the November 2018 and June 2019 examinations. |

Therefore, it must be noted that the list of prescribed literature for the November 2019 and June 2020 examinations is the same as per DBE Circular E39 of 2016 (attached as Annexure B) and DBE Circular E19 of 2018 (attached as Annexure C). |

Please bring the content of this minute to the attention of all institutions and candidates that offer the November 2019 and June 2020 NSC examinations. |
