1. Die Burger newspaper, in cooperation with the Western Cape Education Department, will again present the 60th Annual Leadership Conference from 14–20 December 2018 in Cape Town.

2. Schools are invited to nominate the elected chairperson and/or vice-chairperson of the Representative Council of Learners for 2019 for participation in this very enriching experience. Fifty youth leaders will be given the opportunity to attend. Selection criteria are included in the application form.

3. While Die Burger is an Afrikaans newspaper, the conference will accommodate all three official languages.

4. Selected learners will be expected to attend the conference for the full duration from Friday, 14 December 2018 to Thursday, 20 December 2018.

5. The attached documentation will serve as the nomination form and should be completed in full. Schools are welcome to submit any additional and appropriate information in support of the nomination.

6. Completed nomination forms must be submitted to Rosemary Swartz via email to Rosemary.Swartz@westerncape.gov.za by 30 October 2018.

7. Please take note of the following important dates:
