1. You are referred to Institutional Resource Support Minute: 0001/2016, in which schools were requested to capture the names of grades R to 12 learners making use of WCED-funded learner transport on the Central Education Management Information System (CEMIS).
2. The abovementioned process has been completed and the names of authorised learners are reflected on CEMIS per route and pick-up point.
3. Principals are requested to ensure that the learner names are correctly assigned to routes and pick-up points and must report any discrepancies relating to the learner names authorised for transport on CEMIS to Ms Rhonell De Vries. She is stationed in the Subdirectorate: Learner Transport Schemes (LTS) at Head Office and she can be contacted at tel. 021 467 2136 or by email at Rhonell.DeVries@westerncape.gov.za.
4. Please note that all the additional learners authorised hereafter will be captured by officials at LTS and that principals will be given an opportunity from time to time to remove learners who are no longer making use of learner transport. The system will automatically remove the names of learners who leave the school.
