1. In support of the Western Cape Education Department's (WCED) strategic objectives and in line with the Department’s endeavour to ensure improved recruitment and selection processes, a management decision was taken to remove attachments (covering letter and two testimonials) from the online application system when educators apply for advertised posts.
2. Governing bodies and/or interview committees are requested to apply a competency-based approach during the recruitment and selection processes to ensure that only the best candidates are shortlisted and appointed based on their competencies.
3. Shortlisted candidates must be requested to submit certified copies of the documentation to the governing body/interview committee when invited for an interview.
