1. Applications for the institution of new routes in January 2016 must be submitted to district offices for the attention of the Deputy Director: Corporate Services by 31 July 2015. Schools must start preparing a fully motivated application form from the time that the schools reopen for the Third Term.
2. Applications for additional learners on existing routes in January 2016 must be submitted to district offices for the attention of the Deputy Director: Corporate Services by 7 August 2015.
3. District offices will receive the applications for the institution of new routes and additional learners by 31 July and 7 August 2015 respectively, and process the applications as required. The signed off applications with route maps are to be submitted to the Directorate: Institutional Resource Support for the attention of Mr MJ Hendricks, Deputy Director: LTS by 31 August 2015.
4. The IMG Manager is requested to verify/determine whether learners can be placed in schools or hostels and to complete Section B of the application form before considering the inclusion of these learners on a transport scheme.
5. Attached please find a revised LTS application form (dated July 2015) for immediate implementation. This form makes provision for the indication of the date from which LTS services are required.
6. It is of utmost importance that applications for new routes and additional learners are received timeously so that the services can be procured and made available on the first day of school in 2016.
7. It will be appreciated if the stipulations contained in this minute can be strictly adhered to.
