The Western Cape Education Department will once again monitor the implementation of the School Improvement Plans in 2015. |

The following focus areas will be monitored in the School Improvement Monitoring (SIM) of the School Improvement Plan (SIP) in 2015:
- Preparation for, and implementation of, the SIP;
- Workbooks;
- Textbooks;
- Grades 1 and 9 pass rates;
- Management (meetings with parents, curriculum coverage, data management, learner and teacher attendance, filling of vacancies, teacher development);
- Days on which teaching did not take place, including for examinations and meetings;
- Desks and chairs;
- Infrastructure, with a focus on toilets; and
- Financial management.

The SIM is to be completed by both the school and officials as follows:

In order to facilitate monitoring, the following procedure will be followed: |
5.1 |
The monitoring focus is supplied each term in a Minute. |
5.2 |
These monitoring focus items will be provided for sign-off on the CEMIS under "ADMINISTRATION". |
5.3 |
The principal will capture responses online. |
5.4 |
The IMG Managers will make an appointment to discuss the responses and the completed sheet will be signed by both parties. |
5.5 |
The principal will sign off on the CEMIS. |
5.6 |
One hard copy will be retained by the IMG Manager for auditing purposes. A second one should be kept at the school. |
5.7 |
The IMG Manager will sign off on Eduinfosearch. |
6. |
Any queries will be dealt with by the IMG Manager. |
