The Western Cape Education Department acknowledges that the specified dates for the Common Examination for Language and Mathematics to be written by high schools may be a challenge due to the pre-set dates set by schools. |

In order to accommodate all schools, please be advised that the decision to write the Common Examination is not compulsory, however it is highly recommended. Schools which find the pre-set dates a challenge may revert to the dates set by the school provided that the credibility and confidentiality of the Languages and Mathematics Examination is maintained. |

Schools interested in writing the Common Examination Papers should complete Annexure A of GET Minute: DCG 0006/2015. |

Principals are requested to bring this minute to the attention of all Senior Phase Language and Mathematics teachers. |
