| APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF MARKERS AND ORDINARY MARKERS FOR THE CENTRALISED MODERATION OF THE GRADES 3, 6 AND 9 ANNUAL NATIONAL ASSESSMENTS IN 2015, 2016 AND 2017 |
| 1. |
Teachers who meet the criteria as specified in Annexure A are invited to apply for the positions of chief markers and ordinary markers for the centralised moderation of the 2015 Grades 3, 6 and 9 Annual National Assessments (ANA). The teacher will be expected to occupy this position for a three-year period from 2015 to 2017, subject to satisfactory performance each year.

Applications for marking must be submitted on the attached Annexure B form to the relevant education district for the attention of the Assessment Coordinator or the Head: Curriculum Co-ordination and Advice. The applications must reach education district offices by 15 May 2015. The list of Assessment Coordinators or Heads: Curriculum Co-ordination and Advice and their telephone numbers is indicated in the table below:

The marking of the ANA will be conducted from 03 to 11 October 2015, at a selected marking centre in each education district. Markers must please avail themselves to be present for the duration of the marking period. |

Successful applicants will be notified in writing by the relevant education district office and will be required to sign a contract for three years with the Western Cape Education Department. |
| 6. |
The quality of marking is dependent on the appointment of good markers. We request that school principals encourage teachers to offer their services for the marking of the ANA. |

Teachers will be remunerated according to the prescribed tariffs as indicated in the Personnel Administrative Measures (PAM). |

Principals and curriculum advisers are kindly requested to bring the content of this minute to the attention of the teachers concerned. |
