1. The 2014 Annual National Assessments (ANA) were written by Grades 1 to 6 and 9 learners in ordinary public schools and some special schools from 16 to 19 September 2014. At state-aided independent schools, only Grade 3 or Grade 6 wrote the ANA, whichever grade offered at the school was higher.

2. The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) has provided each school with an ANA 2014 report which can be accessed through the Centralised Educational Management Information System (CEMIS) as follows: click on "Assessments" and then scroll down to "ANA 2014 report".

3. The ANA 2014 school report provides an overview of the following:
3.1 An analysis of the school results per grade. The grade average and percentage of learners per grade that achieved above 50% is provided for the school, together with the corresponding performance at circuit, district and provincial level. The achievement level distribution per grade is also provided in this report;
3.2 An analysis of the school results per class; and
3.3 An analysis of the school results over a period of two years.

4. Senior curriculum planners and education district officials should also take note that the ANA 2014 report is available on EduInfoSearch under "Exams and Assessments". Select "ANA" (Annual National Assessments) and then "ANA Results by Grade (2012 - 2014)" to access the data.
