| MANAGEMENT, ADMINISTRATION, CONDUCT AND MARKING OF THE 2015 ANNUAL NATIONAL ASSESSMENTS |

Schools were informed through Circular 0008/2015 of the 2015 Annual National Assessments (ANA) to be written on 15 – 18 September 2015 by Grades 1 to 9 learners at ordinary public schools and some special schools. At state funded independent schools, only Grade 3 or Grade 6 will write the ANA, whichever grade offered at the school is higher. |

The purpose of this minute is to explain the arrangements for the management, administration, conduct and marking of the ANA. Failure to adhere to these stipulations will result in the investigation of ANA anomalies. |

Annexure A covers the procedures to be followed before, during and after the writing of the ANA. Please take note of the dates indicated in the annexure. |

Annexure B is the Teacher Guide to the Annual National Assessment which must be provided to educators at least one week prior to the start of the ANA. |

The Western Cape Education Department will continue to rely on your support in ensuring that the ANA is conducted with the integrity befitting a national assessment. |
