ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THE ASSESSMENT OF THE FOLKLORE GENRE FOR THE GRADE 12 NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE (NSC) NOVEMBER 2015 EXAMINATIONS


1. This minute must be read in conjunction with Assessment Management Minute 0009/2015: Folklore exemplar question paper for Grade 12 National Senior Certificate (NSC) November 2015 examinations.
2. This minute provides additional information on the assessment of the Folklore component of the question paper for Grade 12 in preparation for the NSC 2015 examination which was not featured in Assessment Management Minute 0009/2015.
3. In the NSC examination question paper there will be a choice of answering either the NOVEL or the FOLKLORE component in Section B worth 25 marks in total.
4. As stated in the minute the Folklore genre is applicable to the African Home Languages and is implemented for the first time in the 2015 academic year.
5. Find attached Annexure A providing detailed information on the assessment of the Folklore genre and Annexure B – illustration of the question paper layout of the November 2015 and March 2016 examinations.
6. Kindly bring the contents of this minute to the attention of all teachers of African Home Languages.
