1. This minute serves as notice to all Western Cape Education Department schools to complete the attached security compliance checklist before the commencement of the school holiday.
2. In terms of the South African Schools Act (SASA), 1996 (Act 84 of 1996), the principal, as the accounting officer must ensure that adequate means are employed to reduce the possibility of burglary and vandalism.
3. Schools are requested, on completion and sign-off of the compliance checklist, to submit the completed checklist to their District Safe Schools Co-ordinator by no later than 10 December 2014.
