1. It is important that all applications for learner transport for January 2015 are submitted timeously to ensure the timeous institution of such services.

2. Where needs exist for the transportation of learners that reside 5 or more kilometres from their nearest appropriate school in rural districts, a fully motivated learner transport scheme (LTS) application must be completed and submitted to the district.

3. The timeous institution of new routes for January 2015:
3.1 Applications for new routes to be instituted from January 2015 must be submitted to the school's Circuit Team Manager by 3 October 2014 to ensure that such services are timeously instituted.
3.2 The district must process and finalise all LTS applications for new routes and submit such applications to the LTS sub-directorate for the attention of Mr MJ Hendricks, Deputy Director: LTS, by 10 October 2014.

4. The timeous inclusion of additional learners and route extensions for January 2015:
4.1 Applications for additional learners and/or route extensions from January 2015 must be submitted to the school's Circuit Team Manager by 17 October 2014 to ensure that such learners and services are timeously approved and instituted.
4.2 The district must process and finalise all LTS applications for additional learners and route extensions and submit such applications to the LTS sub-directorate for the attention of Mr MJ Hendricks, Deputy Director: LTS, by 31 October 2014.

5. The timeous inclusion of current Grade R learners who will progress to Grade 1 in 2015:
5.1 Grade R learners have been approved for learner transport for 2014 only. New LTS applications must be submitted for all Grade R learners who are currently being transported and who will be progressing to Grade 1 at their current schools in 2015.
5.2 Applications for Grade R learners that are currently being transported and will progress to Grade 1 at their current schools must be submitted to the school's Circuit Team Manager by 17 October 2014, to ensure that such learners are timeously approved and included.
5.3 The district must process and finalise all LTS applications for Grade R learners who are currently being transported and will progress to Grade 1 at their current schools in 2015 and submit such applications to the LTS sub-directorate for the attention of Mr MJ Hendricks, Deputy Director: LTS, by 31 October 2014.
5.4 Hereto attached please find the schedule of the number of Grade R learners that were approved and included at the specified schools for the specified routes in 2014. The schools that are specified on this schedule must ensure that new applications are submitted as indicated above for each of the learners that will progress to Grade 1 at their current schools in 2015.

6. The stipulations contained in this minute must be strictly adhered to.
