1. It has come to the attention of the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) that principals are not checking their consignment of question papers thoroughly when it is delivered by the couriers. This matter must be attended to urgently.

2. The following must be done when consignments are received:

  • check that the waybill numbers and the number of boxes correlate with each other;
  • check the addresses on each box to ensure that it is part of the consignment for your school;
  • ensure that the label tracking sticker on each box matches the numbers pasted on the waybills;
  • ensure immediately that you have question papers for each examination session to be written by your candidates;
  • open the documentation box and remove the question paper check list to check your consignment (however, no session may be opened); and
  • check that you have received an envelope with the candidate label stickers for each session.
3. Should any discrepancies be found immediately contact Mr Clive Berry, Assistant-Director: Question Papers at tel. no. 021 467 2265.
