The provincial list of recommended books for Grades 7 to 9 Literature Study for 2015 is attached. |

The list has been compiled for the purpose of reducing the need to purchase new books, but new titles have been added to the list. |

The Prescribed Book Committees have considered all recommendations and comments, and amendments have been made to the provisional list. |

The study of a variety of genres including poetry, novels, short stories, drama and essays (in African Languages) will provide a basis for literary analysis at FET level. The inclusion of essays in African Languages aims to model and thus support appropriate creative writing skills. |
