| 1. | Teachers who meet the criteria as specified in Annexure A are invited to apply for the positions of Chief Markers and Ordinary Markers for the centralised moderation of the 2014 Grades 3, 6 and 9 Annual National Assessments (ANA). |
| 2. | Marking will be conducted in the following subjects:

| 3. | Applications for marking must be submitted on the attached Annexure B form to the relevant education district for the attention of the assessment co-ordinator. The applications must reach education district offices by 15 May 2014. A list of assessment co-ordinators and their telephone numbers is indicated in the table below:

| 4. | The marking of the ANA will be conducted from 04 to 11 October 2014 at a selected marking centre in each education district. Markers must please avail themselves to be present for the duration of the marking period. |
| 5. | Successful applicants will be notified in writing by the relevant education district office and will be required to sign a contract with the Western Cape Education Department. |
| 6. | The quality of marking is dependent on the appointment of good markers. We request that school principals encourage teachers to offer their services for the marking of the ANA. |
| 7. | Teachers will be remunerated according to the prescribed tariffs as indicated in the Personnel Administrative Measures (PAM). |
| 8. | Principals and curriculum advisors are kindly requested to bring the content of this minute to the attention of the teachers concerned. |
