The National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination will be administered for the first time according to the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statements (CAPS) in 2014. This means that there will be changes in the format and content of some of the question papers that will be set from 2014 onwards. |

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has provided the Provincial Education Departments with examination guidelines to assist the Grade 12 candidates and teachers with preparation for the end of year examinations. |

The examination guidelines will be made available on the Western Cape Education Department’s (WCED) website at: http://www.wcedcurriculum.westerncape.gov.za/. Click on "Assessment Management / FET Assessment". Click on "Articles" on the left bar. Click on "Examination Guideline Documents" and click on the link and download the examination guidelines. |

A CD, containing these examination guidelines will be sent to each school and Education District Office. |
