The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has developed exemplar school based assessment (SBA) tasks in the following seven selected subjects for the National Senior Certificate (NSC): Accounting, English First Additional Language (FAL), Geography, History, Life Sciences, Mathematics and Physical Sciences. |

It is envisaged that teachers will use the exemplar SBA tasks as a standard against which to benchmark their own SBA tasks. |
| 3. |
The exemplar SBA tasks includes alternative forms of assessment and skills that cannot be extensively assessed in an examination. |

The assessment tasks which are compliant with the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statements (CAPS) are as follows:
