1. Die Burger newspaper in co-operation with the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) will again present the 56th annual Youth Leadership Conference from 12 to 18 December 2014 at Die Burger Strandhuis in Muizenberg, Cape Town.
2. Schools are invited to nominate the chairperson and/or vice-chairperson of the Learner Representative Council for 2015. Fifty (50) youth leaders (25 boys and 25 girls) will be selected from the applications according to the criteria indicated in the attached nomination form.
3. The medium of the conference is Afrikaans (the language of Die Burger newspaper), but candidates from all language groups will be considered for selection.
4. Selected youth leaders will be expected to attend the conference for the full duration from Friday, 12 December to Thursday, 18 December 2014.
5. The attached nomination form must be completed in full and, where necessary, appropriate information must be submitted in support of the application.
6. The completed application form must be scanned and submitted via email to reach one of the following persons by 31 October 2014:

7. The WCED invites all schools to nominate suitable candidates for this prestigious conference.
