Numerous requests have been received from schools in the Western Cape Province to deviate from the approved school terms and public holidays for 2014. |

The Western Cape Education Department cannot accede to such requests as the school terms for 2014 has been determined by the national Department of Basic Education after broad consultation. All public schools must abide by the 2014 school calendar. |
